He recently served as CEO and President of Moneta Gold Inc. and previously spent 10 years as Vice-President of Dundee Resources, where he oversaw technical due diligence for corporate investments. Earlier in his career, he held key exploration positions with Gabriel Resources, European Goldfields in Romania, and Freeport-McMoRan in Indonesia.
Shaun Heinrichs, President and CEO, brings over 20 years of senior financial management and reporting experience, primarily within the mining industry. He began his career at Ernst & Young and subsequently held CFO positions at Veris Gold Corp. (2008-2015), a precious metals producer, and VMS Ventures Inc. (2015-2016). He also served on the board of Veris Gold Corp. (2012-2013). Currently, Mr. Heinrichs is also the CFO of Group Eleven Resources Corp., a zinc exploration company. He is a CPA, CA, and holds a business degree from Simon Fraser University.
Michele Della Libera, Vice President of Exploration, brings over 30 years of experience as an economic geologist exploring diverse precious and base metal systems across the Americas. As Director of Exploration for New Gold Inc., he played a key role in the discovery and delineation of the 10+ million-ounce Blackwater gold-silver deposit (currently under construction) and the expansion of the C-Zone at the New Afton copper-gold deposit, both in British Columbia. His expertise spans early-stage exploration, resource delineation, deposit modelling, reserve replacement, and technical evaluations. Mr. Della Libera holds a Master's degree in Geological Science (Structural Geology) from the University of Pisa and is a registered P.Geo. in Ontario and British Columbia.
Shaun Drake is a seasoned corporate secretary with over two decades of experience guiding reporting issuers in meeting their continuous disclosure and governance obligations. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous roles in the global trust services industry, spanning fourteen years in Guernsey, Channel Islands and Portugal, including providing corporate services to a private bank.
As an Associate (ACG) of the Chartered Governance Institute, Shaun possesses a strong understanding of best practices in corporate governance. He currently serves as Corporate Secretary to several companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the TSX Venture Exchange, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to delivering effective and practical solutions to clients' needs.
Carmen Amezquita, CFO, brings over 15 years of experience in the resource sector to 1911 Gold. With a strong background in financial reporting and compliance for both producing and exploration companies, she has held senior financial roles at several publicly traded companies. Prior to joining 1911 Gold, Carmen worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she gained valuable audit and assurance experience. A Chartered Accountant (CA) with a Bachelor of Arts from UBC and a Diploma in Accounting from the Sauder School of Business, Carmen is a valuable asset to the 1911 Gold team.
