Zwischen 1983 und 1991 startete die Finnische Geologische Untersuchung (GTK) eine landesweite Probenahme. Das Jeesiö-Grundstück lieferte 11 Proben, die den 95. Perzentil für Gold in dieser Untersuchung überschritten. Dennoch wurden anschließende Erkundungen nicht gemeldet.
Im Jahr 1990 untersuchte Outokumpu die Kotalampi-Anomalie mit vier Bohrlöchern, die eine Tiefe von 419,5 Metern erreichten. Trotz der Entdeckung von Zonen mit ausgeprägter Fuchsit-Alteration überschritt der Goldgehalt nicht 0,3 g/t.
Von 1972 bis 2007 führte die GTK eine umfangreiche Luftaufnahme in ganz Finnland durch. Darüber hinaus wurden von 1999 bis 2006 auf dem Jeesiö-Grundstück 33 flache Bohrungen durchgeführt, vermutlich zur Bestätigung der Gesteinszusammensetzung. Trotz interessanter Entdeckungen gibt es für Jeesiö keine historischen Schätzungen von Mineralien oder bedeutende Produktionsaufzeichnungen.
