Trésorerie Métaux vise à commencer l'exploitation minière près de Dryden en 2026

Trésorerie Métaux a présenté des plans plus détaillés sur ce à quoi ressemblera sa future opération minière de taille de district, située à 20 kilomètres à l'est de Dryden.
La société basée à Toronto a publié cette semaine une étude de préfaisabilité de son Goliath Gold Complex, une combinaison d'exploitations à ciel ouvert et souterraines ayant une durée de vie initiale de 13 ans.
Lors d'une conférence téléphonique du 23 février avec des analystes, le président-directeur général de Trésorerie Métaux, Jeremy Wyeth, a déclaré que si tout se passe bien avec les autorisations et autres études, les opérations minières pourraient commencer dès 2026.
La société détient un corridor de concessions minéralisées s'étendant du sud-est au nord-ouest, entre le village de Wabigoon et la ville de Sioux Lookout.
Alors que les travaux d'exploration se poursuivent, il y a une forte probabilité de trouver plus d'or en quantités économiques et à des teneurs qui pourraient prolonger les opérations minières au-delà de ces 13 ans, a déclaré la société.
En s'appuyant sur une évaluation économique préliminaire publiée l'année dernière, Wyeth a déclaré qu'ils avaient pu améliorer certains aspects économiques et d'efficacité du projet, malgré certains défis inflationnistes. La nouvelle étude porte la production d'or de 79 000 onces par an à 90 000 onces. La production maximale atteindra 128 000 onces annuellement dès la deuxième année d'exploitation.
Le capital initial nécessaire pour construire la mine est de 335 millions de dollars, ce qui n'est pas considéré comme un coût élevé pour la construction, avec un retour sur investissement sain de 2,8 ans après impôts.
« Il s'agit toujours d'un projet très simple sur le plan technique, qui ne nécessitera pas beaucoup de technologies non traditionnelles et qui offre beaucoup de potentiel de croissance, tant en termes d'extension du plan minier que d'extension », a déclaré Wyeth.
Au cours de sa durée d'exploitation, Goliath produira 1,2 million d'onces d'or, dont 109 000 onces produites annuellement pendant les neuf premières années avec une teneur moyenne légèrement inférieure à 1,6 gramme par tonne.
